I am so jealous. We don't have Trader Joe's in Utah.

OOOH! Life is going to change! I was introduced to TJ's three years ago when I moved to CA, and I've told Hubby I'll never live anywhere without one again!

Thanks for the tag yesterday - you're right, this meme is not easy.

The day we get Trader Joe's in NYC will be the best day of my life. People will probably be camping out the night before it opens!

Where is it so that I can go and see how I spend my $100? I was just talking to hubby about it tonight. Wow! I can't believe your post was about TJ's.

Kalyn- If/when they get one, don't make my mistake: going on opening day! Can you say 'madhouse'?

lisasd- I can certainly see why you would feel that way!

mebeth, good luck. But, I'd been under the impression that New York already had cool little grocery stores... have I been wrong in this?

michele, I'm already making a list, and plotting to return again this weekend!

maureen, the coffee is great so far! I'd forgotten about the cilantro dressing, but its on my list for this weekend. We did pick up a blue cheese dressing that was decent.

vicki, if I may suggest Friday, and as early as you can possibly make it! You really wouldn't believe how crazy it was!

joe, I can already see that I am just going to have to alot a portion of each pay check to them!

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ABOUT TJs: I should've included this in the post, but was in a hurry. The one thing that really struck me about this place was the employees. When I say it was a madhouse, that's putting it nicely. It was shoulder to shoulder in that place, and had the air of some third-world bazaar. Through all of this, every single employee that I saw or spoke with was extremely nice, patient, and helpful. I was utterly amazed.

If Trader Joe's means that customer service is making a comeback in Hampton Roads, I for one am all for it!

You're right - there are tons of cute little groceries in NY, so I shouldn't complain too much, but TJs is soooo cheap!

Mmmm yummmmm-A!! You're so lucky! Congrats on your new purchases :) Isn't it amazing how fast the money flies when you're in a fun food store?

When I lived in Cali, I went once a week. Now, my nearest TJ's is 3 hrs away in Michigan. I do stock up though when we go.

Might I use your photo of what $100 might buy at Trader Joe's on our newspaper's website? We're writing an online story about devotion to TJ, and that we're NOT getting one (yet) in Maine.
