On How to End the Slightly-Amiss Quasi-American Feast

Have your neighbor, who loves to bake, ring your doorbell and give you one of these, still warm from the oven: fresh coconut-chiffon pie. Oh, my, but can that man make a pie!!

Don't you just want to reach out and tweak one of those curly-cues?

hey! yeah, trick dog was actually very good. very efficient, good decor, solid wine list, full bar, great food. on that same stretch is an awesome little cooking store ( and the inn the hope and glory is a must see ( mum and i are locals around here and even we want to stay there. there is a very nice little wine and cheese and a gourmet shop a hop, skip, and a jump away in white stone. there's also a very lovely little farmers market in irvington the 1st sunday of every month. and come on out to reedville, 20 minutes away and visit me working at the ice cream parlour if you end up coming before january, when i leave for sf. our ice cream is to die for.

that pie is gorgeous. as was the potato salad. too bad it didnt turn out as good as it looks. youll find in my blog that i hardly EVER follow recipes for that reason. i love this blog. i cant believe i hadnt found it before. thanks for stopping by my little blurb and saying hello!

Mona, thanks for stopping by for a visit!

Violet, if I didn't have a wedding to go to this evening, my husband and I would be on our way! I can't wait to go check out your little corner of Virginia.

Joe, you have no idea what a talent this man has when it comes to baking. The fact that he likes to share- oh, so bad for my waistline!
